WORKSHOP OUTLINE
This interactive, thought provoking workshop explores the art and science of giving feedback that sticks and actually builds relationships. Let’s bust some myths and build real life skills and confidence for approaching a feedback conversation.
Key Takeaway points:
1) How to gain insight into your own response to feedback
2) The 6 key steps to preparing for a feedback conversation and setting yourself up for success!
3) Why curiosity is your superpower
4) How to “diagnose” challenges in a feedback conversation
5) Skills for delivering empathy that really “lands” and deepens trust and rapport even in a tough conversation
Shob (Dr Shobhana Nambiar) spent 25 years as an Emergency doctor meeting people on some of the toughest days of their lives. Now she is a passionate communication facilitator and has worked with hundreds of health professionals at all stages to help develop the key skills to tackle difficult conversations with clarity, empathy and authenticity. In her other life she has been teaching blues and swing dancing for over 20 years around Australia, NZ and internationally and now co-runs The Night Owls, a blues and swing school in Melbourne. In this workshop, she is excited to bring knowledge from her work in health and apply it to the difficult conversations we often face as we teach, work in teams and build scenes in the dance world.
