Description
Dancing (Sabar,Diola and Djembedance) and drumming in Senegal with Issa Sow in collaboration with Galaye Faye jan 9 untill jan23. Its possible to do 1 or 2 weeks. We will have a house near the beach somewhere in the lovely Petit Cote! Issa will work together with Galaye Faye and will sometimes invite local teachers from local ballets.
About Issa:
As a little boy he was fascinated by the traditional dances of his country and began at an early age his career as a dancer in the famous National Ballet of Senegal. He studied the traditional dances and rhythms of his country, as Grin,Takosaba Bambara (old woman dance)
Komodougou (a dance with the men, the women seduced), Mbalax (Senegal fiery, popular dance rhythm), Modern African Dance and continued his experiences over 15 years to serve as a member of the "Ballet du Senegal". In 1992 he traveled with great success together with the Ballet as a dancer, singer, choreographer and acrobat, with whom he traveled throughout Africa, Europe and Asia. Since then he has lived in Europe and began his career as a danceteacher in Belgium.
Issa`s dance lessons and workshops which are now not only in Belgium, Germany but also in France, and Holland besides dance he is also teaching percussion and singing. Nowadays he is still a top dancer who knows how to charm and inspire his students with his passion and pleasant personality.Issa Sow is not only an outstanding dancer, but also a wonderful singer and composer and lyricist who has studied as intensively the multiethnic dances and musical styles of his homeland, such as funk and Breakdance.
