Description
Glasgow Swing Dance are delighted to announce that we are bringing back our live band nights!
It's been a hot minute (or a couple of years) but we are excited to be bringing back some more regular live music for our dancers (and soon-to-be dancers!)
Join us for a night of live music and dancing in the Southside of Glasgow on the 7th August 2026! We'll be dancing to the wonderful music of Jack Heavenor and his Trio 🎶
Location: 43rd Glasgow Scouts Hall, 4 Holmhead Rd, Glasgow G44 3AS
7:15pm: Doors open
7:45pm-9:15pm: Jack Heavenor Trio
Tickets are £15 - cash or card accepted. If you purchase an advance ticket in person at one of our classes over the next couple of weeks then you get the class for free!
Thinking about coming along but not quite sure what to expect? Check out our FAQs:
* What do I wear?
- Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in - dress up fancy if you like but casual clothing is also welcome.
* What shoes should I wear?
- We recommend comfortable flat shoes with little to no heel that are not too grippy (so you can spin!).
* I've never danced before - can I still come along?
- Everyone is welcome to come and join the fun! If you want to learn, we would encourage you to come along to one of our classes over the next couple of Fridays, or you might find a friendly punter who will teach you a few steps on the night!
* Do I need a dance partner?
- No dance partner needed but feel free to bring your friends/enemies/casual acquaintances! We're a friendly bunch and you'll likely find lots of people to dance with!
* Is there somewhere to buy a drink?
- We don't have a bar onsite but we have a kitchen where you can refill a water bottle! After the live music finishes there'll be a group of us likely heading to a nearby pub to carry on the festivities, so please join us!
* How much is a ticket?
- Tickets are £15 (free class when purchased in advance at one of our Friday classes before the event!)
* Can I pay by card?
- Yes you can! We accept cash or card payments on the door.
* How do I get to the Scout Hall?
- The Scout Hall is found on 4 Holmhead Road, Cathcart. Buses 4, 4A, and 6 stop on Clarkston Road just outside the Hall, and it's a 7 minute walk from Cathcart train station! There is plenty of free parking on nearby roads as well.
Please message us if you have any other questions!
