🌟 DANGER RODRÍGUEZ
Choreographer • Salsa • Rumba • Afro-Cuban Dance Instructor
Born in Camagüey, Cuba, in 1983, Danger Rodríguez is an internationally renowned dancer and choreographer.
He began his career with the prestigious Conjunto Artístico Maraguán, where he trained in Cuban folk dance, rural folklore, Haitian and Jamaican traditions, and Conga.
For seven years, he represented Cuba at festivals supported by CIOFF, performing across the Dominican Republic, Mexico, France, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Italy and other countries around the world.
🏅 Notable achievements include:
• Best Dancer at the Cuban Festival of University Artists
• Gold Medal — Dijon International Festival, France, 2007
• First Place — Gorizia Folk Festival, Italy, 2006
🇪🇸 ARTISTIC EVOLUTION IN SPAIN
In 2008, Danger moved to Spain, where his international career continued to grow.
He became co-director and choreographer of the Evolution group, performing at stages and festivals across Spain.
In 2012, he collaborated on the choreography for “Lágrimas Negras”, featuring music by Chucho Valdés, for the 45th Voll-Damm Barcelona International Jazz Festival, a tribute to Bebo Valdés.
🌟 D&Y DANCE COMPANY & MODERN SON
In 2014, Danger and Yunaisy founded D&Y Dance Company, performing at prestigious congresses and festivals including Remeneate, Guaguancó Festival and Festival de Cuba in Stuttgart and Berlin.
Together, they developed their own style, Modern Son — combining traditional Cuban Son with contemporary elements and establishing themselves as one of the most creative Cuban dance partnerships on the international scene.
📺 TELEVISION & CREATIVE PROJECTS
2019 — Participated in Spain’s Got Talent, reaching the semi-finals.
2020 — Created the Cuban Project, bringing Cuban dancers together in Barcelona for collective choreographies that went viral on social media.
2021 — Founded Cuban Power, a Cuban dance company formed outside the island. The company appeared on The Dancer on TVE, reaching the semi-finals and winning over both the jury and audience.
🔥 SALSA FRESH
In 2022, Danger launched Salsa Fresh, an innovative movement within the Latin dance scene combining Cuban roots with a modern, clean and contemporary energy.
Through Salsa Fresh, Danger brings a fresh vision of salsa — elegant, accessible and full of Cuban flavour — connecting with a new generation of dancers and music lovers.
That same year, he began an artistic partnership with Marielkis Hernández, a graduate of Cuba’s prestigious National School of Art.
Together, Danger & Marielkis continue to share Cuban and Latin culture at major international salsa and bachata festivals, performing and teaching across Europe.
