Zouk Das Meninas means 'zouk by women'.
Dancing with women feels different. Our bodies can provide a very unique feeling to the dance and it would be lovely to see more female/flinta leads on the dance floors.

Have you been a follower for a little while but feel inspired to start leading?
Do you already lead a bit and want to practice more in a safe space?
Are you interested in becoming a soft, gentle and yummy lead/follow? Then this is for you!
You will not only learn to lead, you will also create a great feedback loop towards your following skills and indirectly also improve your following a lot. There is room for exploration, creation and lots of feeling and expression.
When you participate, you agree to lead & follow during all workshops. We will co-create this experience together.

For October 31, we have the amazing Xanne as a guest teacher!
Xanne is a Brazilian Zouk teacher from the Netherlands with a background in theatre, performance art, and various dance styles, including Contemporary and Argentine Tango. Since 2018, she has dedicated herself to Brazilian Zouk.
She travels all over the world to teach dance. Her teaching combines technique with embodiment, guiding dancers to connect to movement from the inside out. She emphasizes softness, awareness, and playfulness, supporting dancers in developing both structure and personal expression.
Alongside her work in zouk, Xanne is a social scientist and embodiment facilitator. She focuses on how the arts can support mental health and wellbeing, and integrates somatic and conscious movement practices into her teaching.

Schedule
14:00 - 18:00
In this 4 Hour workshop we will learn the secrets to soft leading and following.
We will also play with dynamics and textures in the dance.
There is space for reflection, practice and feedback.
